"And now it's time to say goodbye..."

After much prayerful consideration, I feel as though there are other things in my life that I need to focus on other than this blog.  This takes a lot more time than I had expected, and I don't want to take any more time from my little ones than I already do.  I really enjoyed doing this, and hope that I am able to take it up again one day.  For now, I am going to play with my babies and tend to my home.  Feel free to email me if you have questions though. I'm always happy to answer!  I suggest trying out Money Saving Mom for all of your saving needs.  She is a kind, thoughtful, honest blogger.  Not only does she share store deals, she also writes various series focused on teaching you better time and money management.

It was fun!

Be blessed!!

Lane Bryant Sweaters B1G1 AND $30/$60 AND 3% back!!

Are you in need of a couple of sweaters this winter?  Lane Bryant has been having a "12 days of Christmas" sale.  Today's deal is $30/$60.  If you combine this with their ongoing B1G1 FREE sweater sale, you can score some sweaters for pretty cheap (well, cheap for LB).  Also, don't forget to go through Ebates to get 3% back on your purchase!!!  One nice thing about Lane Bryant is that they will ship your order to their store FOR FREE.  Yay!  So, here's how to do it:

  • Go to Ebates(Don't know about Ebates?  Go here to read about it.  It is so easy to sign up!!)  Type in Lane Bryant in the search box.  It will take you to the Lane Bryant site.  Now shop as usual.  Don't want to use Ebates?  Just go here.
  • Click on the "Sale" tab.
  • Click on Sweaters.
  • Add 2 sweaters to your cart. (I chose the $49.50 ones)
  • Add something small to bump your total up to $60 (I added a cami)
  • When you check out, use code 006955915
Your total should be around $35 for 2 sweaters and your extra item!  Then Ebates will automatically credit the 3% to your Ebates account!  Yay!!!!

Walgreens Deals, December 5-11, 2010

Walgreens is doing something called super Jingle Cash (Jingle Cash is what they are calling the RR for the holiday season).  For every $25 you spend, you receive $5 Jingle Cash up to $20 Jingle Cash in one Transaction.  In the past, Walgreens' deals like this require that the $25 be AFTER coupons. If that is the case, this usually is not worth it for me.  If not, YAY!!!  The $5 Jingle Cash can only be redeemed from 12/12 through 12/18.

Walgreens wouldn't sound very exciting to me this week if they didn't have the great filler items!!  I'm going to grab several of those items for stocking stuffers.

It's on the other side of town, and it takes quite a while to do the 3 stores that I do go to.  However, today I tagged along with a friend.  I'm glad I did.  I now have candles for tons of Christmas gatherings this year (think White Elephant parties, Secret Santa, hostess gifts, etc).  I also got clothing for my 2 littles and 1 of my sister's kids.  My friend and I also dug through the trial sized stuff for items that we could pick up for free with our coupons.  It was a fun trip.

The deal that I went for was "Buy 5 select Glade items, get a $5 gift card."  All of the things that I purchased were priced at $2.50.  This deal rolled, so I did 4 transactions.

    Here's what we got:

What do you do with it all?

What do I do with all of the stuff I accumulate?  As I've said before...GIVE!!!

Here's another idea.  How about the people that come to your house almost every day.  Try making a bag for your mail deliverer, trash man, meter reader, etc?

Today I saw our mail lady walking her route.  Our mail lady seems down lately.  So, I grabbed a bag and stuffed it full of the things from my cabinet:  toothpastes, toothbrushes, Olay and Old Spice soaps, make up, dish soap, shampoos, etc.  When I walked out to hand it to her, she was amazed.  She kept asking, "Is this all for me?!  All of it?!"  She smiled a nice, huge smile and then drove away.

She felt nice.  I felt nice.

    Yay for coupons!!

Super 1: Ziploc Vacuum Bag Deal is Rolling

I posted here about the Ziploc Vacuum Bags that were clearanced at Super 1.

If you don't have the $1/1 Ziploc Vacuum Starter kit coupon, you are NOT out of luck!  Today when I was at Super 1 and was looking at the clearanced stuff, I noticed that I had a coupon for $1.25/2 Any Ziploc Bags.  This is what I did:

    Buy 2 Ziploc Vacuum Bags
Use (1) $1.25/2 Any Ziploc Bags coupon
    Pay OOP:  $1.25
Receive a $1.25 Off your next order coupon
    Total:  FREE

I thought I'd just try and see if it would roll, and it did!!  So, after you do your first transaction, use that $1.25 coupon to pay for your second transaction, etc etc.

YAY!!  I'll be using these bags for holiday cooking and storing.  I'm not sure what I'll do with all of the pumps. Perhaps Benjamin can find something cool to do with them.

Well, today I found that Sports Clips here in Longview (in the shopping center in front of Target) is offering FREE haircuts to active duty members and veterans.  Simply bring your proof of service or go in uniform.  I have already called our local place and confirmed this deal.

Thank you for all you have done for us and continue to do!  A haircut and a free meal doesn't do enough to say thank you for your sacrifices.  May the Lord bless you and comfort you today.

Kroger: POSSIBLY free BIG bottles of Olay Body Wash!!

I say "possibly" because ecoupons at our Kroger seem finicky lately.

Do you still have your $5/1 Olay wyb Secret coupon?  I hope so!!  I was at Kroger this morning and noticed that their GIANT bottles of Olay Body Wash (I purchased the Quench ones) are priced at only $5.  You can get the trial size Secret for $1.49 (it's back by the makeup section) or, if you are getting the Mega Sale, you can get the full size Secret Deodorant for $1.79.

I knew that there was a $1.50 ecoupon for Olay soap or body wash, but lately ecoupons don't always work, so I never count on them working.  If they do, it's just a bonus.  Well, today it worked!!  So, here's what you do....

Buy one Olay body wash and one trial size Secret ($1.49)
--Use $5/1 Olay wyb Secret coupon and $1.50/1 Olay soap or body wash P&G ecoupon
    Total:  FREE!!

    or

If you are doing the Mega Deal...
Buy 1 Olay Body Wash and one full size Secret Deodorant ($1.79)
--Use $5/1 Olay wyb Secret coupon and $1.50/1 Olay soap or body wash P&G ecoupon
    Total:  .29 for both!!

Even if your ecoupons don't work, you can get both items for either $1.49 or $1.79.  Still an AMAZING deal!!

Super 1: Ziploc Vacuum Bag Moneymaker!!

Disclaimer:  This particular Super 1 tends to have cashiers that are very hostile towards couponers!  My cashier did not like that I was getting these for .25, and was especially upset when I got money back.  If this happens to you, I encourage you to still be polite to your cashier.  Remember....things are NOT more important than people!  I have not checked the other Super 1 stores in town, but you may want to do that first if you live on the other side of town. They usually all have very similar clearance items.  **EDIT:  The Super 1 on Hwy. 80 does not have them.**

I was at Super 1 (High and Birdsong) this weekend, and I noticed that they had their Ziploc Vacuum Bag Starter Kits on the clearance rack by the frozen goods.  They kits were priced at $1.25!  You should have a coupon for $1/1 Ziploc Vacuum Starter Kits.  I thought that .25 was a great price.  I bought 3 and used 2 of the Starter Kit coupons and one .55/1 Any Ziploc Bags.

When I checked out, the register printed me two $1.25 Catalinas!!  Now, I'm not sure why I got two of them.  I've tried looking it up.  It seems as though it is correct to print out one though.    This is one of those times where I freely admit that I'm not sure what happened.  **EDIT:  I think it was just a fluke.  Someone before me must have bought some and was not aware that the coupon printed.  I must have gotten theirs.  I went today and purchased 3 at once, and I still only got (1) $1.25 coupon**  Anyway.....Your transaction should work like this:

Buy 2 Ziploc Vacuum Bag Starter Kits ($1.25 each)
Use (2) $1/1 Ziploc Vacuum Bag Starter Kit coupons
Pay .50 OOP, Receive $1.25 catalina (good for your next order)
Total:  FREE plus .75 overage (possibly more if it prints out two)

    WalMart: 90% off ALL Halloween!!!!

Get yourself over to Wal-Mart right now!  everything Halloween related is 90% off.  This includes things like cupcake liners, cookie cutters, costumes, candy, etc.  I went to the one on Estes and picked up the following:

12 Darth Vader costumes (he's always in style!!)
1 Super Mario Brothers, Mario costume
2 Pirate Baby costmes (girl, 4T)
    1 Candy Corn costume
    1 Buzz Lightyear costume
    2 Fairy costumes
8 pairs of boys Halloween underwear (no one sees them!!  4 not pictured)
    2 Wilton Holiday sugar mixes
    3 Wilton orange sugar crystals

    Regular Price:  $412.70
    I paid:  $43.24

Now, what will I do with 12 Darth Vader costumes?  I could outfit an entire army from the Dark Side.  While that is interesting, I confess that I will do something a bit more money-minded.  I intend to hold on to them and then sell them around Halloween next year.  Last year I bought an Optimus Prime costume for Benjamin, and it turned out that he didn't like it.  I put it. on eBay and hoped that I could make my $2 back.  Someone bought it for $11!!  Nice.  So, we'll see.....

It may turn out that Benjamin will have the same costume until college.  Or every birthday boy we know will get a Darth Vader costume.  Or......
